BRIEF
An old friend of mine worked with his father panting and decorating. His dad has now retired and so Adam took over the business. He had plenty of returning customers but i offered him a new visual identity, a full branding package for free. This man in 2001 introduced me to guitar and i made a decision to sell my Sony playstation 2 and buy an electric guitar.
This changed my life completely and through this i met some beautiful like minded people. It also opened up a new door for subjects creating art from and with. I lost touch of Adam due to moving to Wotton under edge in 2016 and then Bristol in 2017. This project to re brand him was exciting and i pushed my skills in Adobe Photoshop slightly. The whole project took me around 2 weeks and was completed in April 2019. Adam was very very happy with the work i produced.Adams business operates on a public and commercial level.

Now that i had a colour pallet established and approved by Adam, i was able to continue producing work. Promotional material, advertisements and mock-ups were needed next.
My overall tone of voice: Friendly. Gender neutral. Approachable and clean minimal.

When painting and decorating, there are actions such as 'brushing, overlapping, layering, moving left to right brush strokes, up and down strokes and covering up old with the new. So in the logo i created visual based suggestions of these actions into each character A D and H. There is always a state of 'before' and 'after'. The black tone represents the old and the blue gradient suggests the new.

AND of course a business wouldn't be complete without the best invention yet. The pen. Biro's, fountain pens, pencils etc are always an impact on creating awareness for your company, besides what is Adam going to use to write out his invoice and bills with?
OUTDOOR ADVERTISING


Intention here: By applying a white splash i wanted to suggest the playfulness of the overall tone of voice, which was something i had to battle with. Not to take things too far. A clean professional serious tone but adding a splash brings out that childhood character thus triggering the fun side of things. The area in which the logo is placed is purposely surrounded by no splashing, suggesting a well done clean job provided in the service,
I chose to use the splash backgrounds in the large scale advertising only. Due to its scale , the impact is far more efficient on the impact of the viewer.
