1 LETTER A DAY

Typography is something i have always admired. Letters or charcters are basically shapes with meaning, as is a LOGO. LOGOS is Greek, meaning 'word'. Last year in March i found myself utilizing my time as much as possible. I spent 3 months after christmas practicing more and more of the tools in Adobe Illustrator and so

this fun little project was intended to keep my skills maintained daily hoping to become more equipped with skills needed towards a Job In Graphic Design. Below you will see the A-Z of my first attempt this year. Jan-March. I set my self some rules and one day creating the A-Z in Photoshop using the same creative mind.

FONTSELF. A superb plug-in for Adobe Illustrator. Turn your vector based handwriting or drawings into fonts. Save your files as .otf or .ttf to be instantly installed as typeable fonts for Windows or Mac OS.

2 GOTHAM ROUNDED

I had a lot of fun with this plug in. Not only did i turn my own handwriting into fonts but i chose my favorite established fonts with a well known reputation into my own customized versions. I asked my tutor if i could make his handwriting into a font but he said

no. ;(

Here i took the Gotham Bold and drew around the edges using my Wacom Tablet in order to get practice on my accuracy in precision when using the pen. I was pleased with the outcome after my first attempt.

3 GOTHAM OUTLINE

Through being introduced to playing guitar 17 years ago, i met many beautiful people. One of them was Micheal Roberts. A freelance journalist and Music reviewer. His handwriting caught my attention immediately.

4 Mikeface typeface

I asked him if he would like his own handwriting to be made into a font. He agreed and then sent me a A-Z and 0-9 in the post which was typically 'old skool' of him.

5 NADIA

My partner Nadia is Greek. I was introduced to the Greek Language and of course the Greek alphabet (alphabeta). Our English Language is riddled with greek words. For more fontself practice i asked my partner to send me her A-Z. This was the 2nd one i did back in march 2019.

6 HB DIGITAL POSTCARD

Here are my submissions for a Graphic Design role working for a Printing company in the forest of Dean. The Company guidelines was emailed over and then all applicants were given a 1 hour time limit to design a Promotional Postcard. I decided to submit 3 ideas.

7 Natasha

A friend of my Greek Partner works as a school teacher for children with learning difficulties. I asked her to provide me with her hand wriiting so i could create her own font. Using the font for her homework printouts would give her set homework a more organic feel to the students.
