DEE AND NIDGE ACOUSTIC DUO
BRIEF
I cannot express how much i enjoy being friends with Dee and Nidge. I have known them for 17 years now and enjoyed hours and hours of jamming together at their house and at their relatives. Years ago we wanted to join our own band called DNA which stood for Diane, Nidge, Arron. Family life was their daily doings and so this never took off unfortunately. But now their 2 children have grown up and flown the nest they last year in June started off their music venture together as a married couple.
They were in need of a name. and Identity. They gave me the job of creating this. Nothing major to produce but something to get the ball rolling. The names they suggested was: Happy Hippies, Tiffany's Mushrooms, enchanted and Dee and Nidge. They are now known as Happy Hippies. However originally they wanted to be called Dee and Nidge, so here is the work i produced for them.
TYPOGRAPHY
Dee and Nidge are very open minded and so i suggested many fonts to them. My intention was to capture their personality's and organic nature. I wanted to prioritize visuals that suggested 'flow'. Curves. Natural formation. Additionally i wished to portray playfulness. I also looked into colour pallets. Keeping this as consistent as possible.
Dee and Nidge being a married couple, i wanted to make sure the ''AND'' was clear in their logo. I looked at many ampersands in conjunction with the fonts above, but visually they caused friction and imbalance so i resorted to my favorite friend, Gotham typeface. Here i saw the two letters D and N in lowercase in it. BINGO.
